Compliance & accountability

Clear standards.
Shared responsibility.

Our commitments to safeguarding, privacy, fair employment and accountable care.

Safeguarding and children’s rights.

Adults must listen, act promptly on concerns, keep professional boundaries and respect children’s dignity, identity and relationships. Care and record keeping must follow the child’s plan, legal authority and appropriate professional advice.

Safeguarding, urgent help, complaints and advocacy ↗

Data protection and confidentiality.

We use a need-to-know approach. Child, health, employee and financial records belong in appropriately controlled systems, with an identified lawful purpose, retention arrangements and secure sharing. Families, friends, advocates, courts and lawyers do not have automatic access to a child’s entire diary. Requests require a verified basis and proportionate disclosure.

Do not send identifiable child, clinical or employment information through this public site or to public AI tools. Contact management to arrange an appropriate secure route. Our private operations workspace is a commissioning pilot for fictional records; real records remain locked pending security and data-protection validation.

CCTV and surveillance.

Surveillance must be individually justified, necessary and proportionate. It must respect privacy and the rules for residential childcare, with a specific impact assessment, appropriate permissions, controlled access and defined retention. It cannot replace safe staffing or ordinary care. This website does not operate CCTV or display live footage.

Modern slavery and ethical practice.

Astha Life does not tolerate forced labour, trafficking, recruitment coercion or exploitation. Our policy framework addresses safer recruitment, ethical labour supply, proportionate supplier checks and safe escalation of concerns. This is a statement of commitment; it does not claim audits or checks that have not been evidenced.

Any statutory annual modern slavery statement will follow the applicable legal requirements, financial-year evidence, management approval and signature. A general policy is not a substitute for that statement.

Employment standards.

Our specified standard is a maximum eight-hour shift, including a one-hour paid uninterrupted break with suitable cover. Staff should be able to rest, eat or use their break freely in an appropriate place without remaining responsible for children’s supervision. Scheduling must also protect daily and weekly rest and safe service continuity.

The full-time annual-leave standard is 32 paid days plus the bank holidays applicable to the contracted UK nation. Part-time and other working patterns require fair pro-rata arrangements. Statutory leave and individual contractual terms are managed separately by HR.

Health, safety and professional practice.

Our policy framework includes fire risk, evacuation, infection prevention, medication boundaries, travel, safe recruitment, missing-from-home response, information security, whistleblowing, fair employment, positive behaviour support, equality, supervision and competency checks. Qualified professionals retain responsibility for clinical assessments and treatment decisions.

Training and mandatory reading.

Staff need role-specific induction, current policy reading, supervised practice and assessed competency. A reading acknowledgement or self-reported course completion is not a professional qualification. Staff and young people’s handbooks are available within the private review workspace.

Professional assurance.

Home-specific policies, named responsibilities, local statutory routes and formal management approval must support implementation. Residential admissions require the appropriate registration and service arrangements. No website or software feature alone establishes regulatory compliance.
