Your voice. Your home.

Your voice. Your home.

A guide for young people to Astha’s care values, everyday choices and support model.

You should feel that you belong.

Your room should feel like your space. Your interests, food, language, beliefs and important people matter. You would get to know the adults around you and know who to ask for help.

You have a say.

We would ask what you enjoy, what worries you and what you want to try. You can help choose meals, activities and goals. Adults must explain safety rules and decisions in a way you understand. You do not have to agree with every decision to be treated with respect.

Care is not something you earn.

A difficult day should lead to support. We would listen to what happened and help you find ways to feel safer. Therapy would be discussed with you; taking part would not be a condition of belonging.

Keep the people who matter close.

We would help you stay connected with family, friends and other trusted people when it is safe and agreed in your plan. Your feelings about contact matter too.

Try something that is yours.

An instrument, music, sport, art, coding or something completely different: tell us what interests you. We would agree lessons, equipment and support so you can take part. It is okay to change your mind.

If something feels wrong.

You can speak to a trusted adult, your social worker, independent reviewing officer or advocate. You can ask to speak privately. You should be listened to and never punished for raising a concern.

Before opening, Astha must provide a named safeguarding contact, a clear complaints process and independent advocacy details. This website is not checked for urgent concerns.

Growing up does not mean being forgotten.

We plan to help you prepare for your next step, with agreed support for housing, learning, work and wellbeing. The people involved should explain what support is available and who will stay in touch.
